Considered calling the Bit and Pieces customer service line to replace the missing pieces. I know I bought it second hand, but I’m kind of curious what the process is. In my research, I found this gem of a review regarding 42 missing pieces:

Some of the coolest piece shapes I have ever seen, including this center piece. Unfortunately one of the three missing was a crucial part of the inner circle 😞. Surely this is what Ada R Habershon was talking about when she wrote “Will the Circle Be Unbroken?” in 1907.

Puzzle 11: 99 Butterflies by Bits and Pieces

997 pc (1000 minus 3 missing)

Man this was a great puzzle, wish it had all the pieces. Took the risk buying this from the library sale and ended up a few short. I know there’s a cat lying on the puzzle pretty often but I do not think she’s responsible.

Puzzle 10: Brick Lady

Lego Mystery Minifigure: Red Edition 2021

Smallest puzzle I have done in a long time. A nice balm after the tumultuous lion puzzle. There’s six puzzles you can get and while I wanted the hotdog man, I am very happy with lego brick lady.

This one does hold a special place in my heart, as it was the puzzle on the table when my darling Cookie entered the scene. She loves to lay on puzzles and help sort the pieces (pick them up with her mouth)

Glued for posterity and headed to my Dad, to hang and be admired by a true animal lover.

3) thin, cheap, poor fitting pieces.

Just look at that surface. 10 puzzles in on box is too good to be true. You’re gonna get ten bad puzzles.

Almost gave up on this one but I’m glad I pushed through. After this, I know the others in the box will be very challenging but I will conquer them too.

This was the hardest puzzle of the year so far for many reasons:

1) It’s a photo. Photos are already much harder than most illustrations. Indv. pieces (especially in the dimly lit areas) appear blue and gray.

2) no piece variation. Out of 750, about 730 were the standard 🧩 symmetrical pieces.

Puzzle 9: Lion Photo

That’s Puzzling! Deluxe 10 Puzzle Pack (Lion) 2004

750 pc

Was lured in at the thrift store by a 6000 pc puzzle pack (10 puzzles w/ 500, 750 & 1000 pcs) of animal photos. Grabbed one at random (only to later find the backs of each puzzle had a distinct pattern with a legend)⬇️

More interesting than the missing piece are the extra ones. Occasionally you will find an extra, duplicate piece and sometimes (like with verticalville) you will find a piece to another puzzle entirely. Pictured to the left of a verticalville piece. Now in my collection of other misplaced pieces.

Got this from the same folks that game me the woodland creatures puzzle. Thankfully this was only missing one piece (albeit an edge piece.) Great weird shapes, fun illustration. Incredible puzzle. Finished in an evening. 10 out of 10 puzzle pieces

Not sure what the story is on this puzzle. I did the Pink Floyd one 20 years ago, the other two are sealed and my brother claimed he’d never done any of them. It was not in a bag, but also not in chunks indicating it had been done. Also one piece is all fucked up and bloated like it sat in water 🤷🧩💧

Puzzle 7: Scarface

Scarface by Aquarius

990 pc

My brother gave me all of his puzzles. He got them in his teens and early 20s, which make sense because they are of Scarface, Pink Floyd, John Lennon and The Big Lebowski. Love the freaky shapes of the pieces on this one. 10 out of 10 puzzle pieces.

Not much is known about this strange puzzle (having googled it for almost 60 seconds) but I really liked it. Nice big pieces, all standard two hole two peg but in unique enough shapes that there was never a duplicate fit. A wonderful gift from @nailed.bsky.social

Puzzle 5: Flower Tube

“Wildflowers” by Cavallini & Co 2019

Another from mom. “Vintage Puzzle” from 2019 packaged in fancy tube. Pieces come in cloth bag in tube. Tube does not provide a sorting space for pieces like a box. Weirdly came with two extra pieces. Ten out of ten tubes.

Traded for the Chinatown puzzle. Was warned that some pieces might be missing. 55 in total plus many pieces chewed to shit by a puzzle hungry beast. Interesting challenge. Ten out of ten puzzle pieces.

First puzzle of the year. Nice big pieces. The box does not show the full puzzle which is weird and gave a little extra challenge to the edges. Ten out of ten puzzle pieces.
