I used the Sonic 2 movie poster and the Star Wars poster as inspiration.

Dr. Robotnik is standing large and imposing at the top left with his hand holding up a Chaos Emerald right above Sonic. Inside of Robotnik's stomach is Robotnik owned oil refineries.

For clarification of what you're looking at, you have Sonic and Tails standing on the top of the mountain with Tails hiding behind Sonic. Sonic is wearing a scarf that wraps around the entire poster for the sake of enforcing the composition i'm going for.....

Those red marks at the ends of Shadows eyes I interpreted as eyeliner.

You see I wasn't only simply thinking about "how can I translate the original design into a human form" but I was also keeping my human design of Sonic in mind and how can I make my human Shadow design oppose Sonic's.

I also I feel that for a character like Shadow who's pretty closed in his zipped up jacket contrast well with Sonic's open vest showing the difference in both characters personalities. His attire in general is much more tight fitting rather than Sonic's very loose clothing......

Here's my thought process when creating these two designs.

Shadow: For his body I chose to give him a leather jacket with a fur collar, I made sure it was zipped up so that the fur collar can match up with shadows chest hair......

Finally I gave him blue running pants which are placed high up so that combined with the vest and scarf give him an exposed chest like the original design. I made sure to keep all his attire loose matching his very carefree attitude.

I gave him a blue scarf with scarf tails which hang off his back which resemble his back spikes. I gave him a sleeveless vest similar to Aladdin which leaves his arms exposed like the original design......

Here's my thought process when creating these two designs.

Sonic: When adapting his "mono-eye" I gave him a pair of goggles similar to Sonic Man from Sonic 06. His blue quills I made a wild hairstyle. I kept his gloves and shoes......

This has been the artistic evolution of Spider-Man AVANT'S design!!! I hope any who came across this and stuck around enjoyed it. If any have critiques and suggestions, please throw them my way, I'll take as much advice as I can. I'm sure this evolution will only continue, I look forward to it!!!

I would further exaggerate and experiment with AVANT'S posing and push his anatomy to it's absolute limit. I would also use his scarf to help emphasize the movement of his body. Some poses are better than others but part of art is about messing up, it makes those wins feel even better....

A change I later made was with his anatomy, I made him lanky/skinny thinking it gave him a more striking look. I also put extra emphasis on his scarf tails treating them like spawns cape, unrealistically long and always flowing with the wind. It's a cool visual and AVANT'S most defining trait....

As much as I loved this design, as an artist I didn't feel great using a stock spider logo, so I made my own based on the original. I also would add even more small eyes to the mask to cover up more negative space on the mask. I would later on make a character sheet to further refine the suit....

Feeling confident in this design I would make a front and back view of it digitally and would finally settle on a name for my Spider-Man, AVANT. It's both a reference to an Eve song and represents how out there my Spider-Man is in terms of suit, origin and the world he's from....

Once I got used to drawing him I began to experiment with posing. I'm a big fan of poses that contort and twist around, often with a lot of forced perspective. I also brought back the smaller 4th eye to fill up the negative space of the mask. It was inspired by Sakuna's smaller eyes on his cheeks...

I began to draw more and more of him just to get used to drawing him. At the time I called it "The Ink Blot Suit" since the theming with the suit was ink blots. I also brought back the upside down spider, but this time I made it his back logo. The logo was not mine, I reused a stock spider logo....

I decided to stick with a simple mask just to stay traditional. I then began to experiment with different facial expressions. A lot were what u would come toe expect but the giant eye expression is my favorite. This once again is a reference to Hitotsume-sama (I love Eve ok I can't help it)....

Satisfied with this design I decided to use it as a base to build off of to refine it. I experimented with the head feeling he looked kinda bald. I tried different hair styles to see what worked, I even experimented with giving him a Hat which was also a reference to Hitotsume-Sama....

The face mask was inspired by Yokai masks and Kurukuru from the Eve song 'Dramaturgy', my fav music artist. I also made the Spider-Logo upside down. Not satisfied I started over with a much more simplistic suit. I added a white scarf which was inspired by Hitotsume-Sama, an Eve character....
