Judge Susan Crawford, the liberal candidate for Wisconsin Supreme Court, is making a stop in Hudson this morning ahead of next week’s election. Crawford is endorsed by former President Obama; her opponent, Judge Brad Schimel, is endorsed by President Trump.

BREAKING: The Minnesota Supreme Court rules that a quorum in the House is 68 members, siding with the DFL in a decision that effectively shuts down House Republicans from being able to operate in the chamber during the DFL boycott.

Chief Justice Natalie Hudson and the state Supreme Court listened to oral arguments today, in the case that will decide whether the House GOP has enough members to operate while the DFL boycotts. "What we have, is a co-equal branch of government that is completely dysfunctional."

Also today: the House GOP sent a letter to the Sec. of State today, challenging his stance that GOP won't have a quorum tomorrow: "Now is the time for you to set aside your political allegiance and put our democratic institutions and the rule of law above lawless, partisan games."

The House DFL just released this photo of last night's swearing-in ceremony, which was conducted without public notice. Republicans say this is flatly illegal, while the DFL says they won't let the GOP "pretend that 67 votes is a majority and engage in an illegitimate power grab."

DFL Sen. Nicole Mitchell's attorney has filed court documents asking to move her burglary trial from January to "after May 19," to avoid coinciding with the legislative session. They also asked if Mitchell can appear virtually at a hearing Tuesday, the first day of the session.
