Just ran the first session of Rapscallion from @magpiegames.bsky.social! I really love the meta-currencies the game offers. It's a bit crunchier than other PBTA games, but offers a lot of depth for players to interact with. A solid #ttrpg I'm excited to explore more!

There is a lot of shitty stuff going on in the world. I have my own problems, like still being out of a stable job in my mid-30s. Life can be a drag sometimes and the future is uncertain. But it has been nice to celebrate good times surrounded by good people for a bit and take my mind off things. ♥️

@acoupleofdrakes.bsky.social make some of the most streamlined TTRPGs. I really love how both Disaster/WING and Disaster/PEACE boil FITD down to the bare minimum while still incorporating genre tropes.

The goal? Play Twilight Imperium (and other #boardgames).
We completed the game and enjoyed good company (along with plenty of doggos!).

The Final Fantasy #MTG cards have been so on point, it's crazy. WOTC really has mastered their design process at this point.
My favorite cards so far? Vanille and Fang.
Also, just a reminder that we STILL have not gotten a FFXIII remaster and I am STILL patiently waiting.

And finally we did some late night boardgaming by playing Harmonies, a very cute game about building habitats for animals. It's a great game with some very think-y elements that is short and sweet.
Overall, it was a great second day of the convention. Sad it's almost over! 😭

After that I played Blood on the Clocktower and more Lord of the Rings Tricking Taking Game. No pics from those but I followed it up by playing Lewis and Clark: The Expedition. A tense worker placement game with some... outdated terminology and design.

We played a surprisingly complex tile laying game called Gnome Hollow. This game has magnetic player mats which are very cool. The gameplay was mostly just okay but the theme is 10/10.

We played Rolling Realms, a very cute roll and write boardgame that features a bunch of mini games based on other boardgames. It was very meta but it was a lot of fun once we got the hang of it - we may have screwed up the rules the first round... 😅
