5 years later, I still feel these things but I am equipped with better tools now. I wanted this version of Valinor to feel wistful, nostalgic. In both good ways and bad. Because I have my good days and also my bad ones. If Valinor is truly about the act of journeying, then I have so much more to do.

I wish I understood then what I do now about failure, grief, and guilt. At the time, this song represented my desire to desperately understand what I could feel but not address. Valinor is what got spat out instead.

we do it because people did it before us. we self select into that responsibility because we know no other way

if people didn’t make the art we loved, nor us for ourselves and others - how else would we know who we are?
