I once considered myself conservative. And when I looked at Mike Johnson’s website, I don’t disagree with the principles he lists there. But if you look at what the GOP is actually doing, it becomes clear that they don’t meet their own standards. (Thread)

Joni Ernst on GOP cuts to Medicaid: “Well, we’re all going to die.” That’s the Republican plan—slash the ACA, blow up the debt, hurt Medicare, and if you complain? Too bad.

Your suffering isn’t collateral—it’s the goal.

Moms For Medicaid says, instead of cutting Medicaid, why don't we close corporate loopholes? Let’s cut corporate welfare, close tax loopholes, & other ways that allow corporations to avoid paying taxes! That costs taxpayers billions! @MomsRising.org says NO to Medicaid cuts!

So if Musk doesn’t run DOGE, and DOGE isn’t a real government agency, then no one has to listen to Musk or do what the DOGE bros tell them to do, right?
NEWSY: The White House confirms tonight that Elon Musk is NOT the administrator of DOGE and is not even technically part of it.

He's a "senior adviser to the president" like Anita Dunn, they say. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Our next president will have to be technologically competent, at least , in order for us to sustain our place in the world.

This will become increasingly obvious over the next 4 years as AI gets more powerful

This isn’t necessarily bad. Truly. Done right, we will be a better, more equal society

The battle will be fought over which company’s AI will be used by the feds.

This is a zero sum battle that will create more chaos than this country has ever seen

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
