Imperial County, Calif., is 85% Latino. Most are of Mexican heritage. In 2024, Imperial County voted for Trump 49.1% to 48.3% over Kamala Harris. On Tuesday, Imperial County voted for Prop. 50--the anti-Trump initiative—by a 59.6%-40.4% margin.
Hmm. Buyer’s remorse over the whole Trump thing?

I didn’t agree with national pundits who speculated that if Prop 50 lost, Gov Newsom would have taken a big hit—he was standing up when other Dems were ducking. But the margin of victory so far is a very big deal.

I don’t see overall crowd estimates in AP’s report. A pretty big omission.

Stunningly lackluster local coverage of the “No Kings” rallies in the Sacramento media. And here is AP’s latest push alert: “Re: Thousands join 'No Kings' rallies nationwide.” Thousands? Wow. Tragic example of what we’ve lost.

Trump’s use of FBI to target ‘enemies’ echoes FBI’s dark history of mass surveillance, dirty tricks and perversion of justice under J. Edgar Hoover
Donald Trump has a partisan ally running the FBI. He’s urged retribution against his perceived enemies. Will today’s FBI repeat the vast, unconstitutional persecutions of the J. Edgar Hoover era?

I have said many very stupid things and I am willing to forgive. But what is in the heart of a man who advocates giving lethal injections to human beings who, through no fault of their own, are ill and on the edge? And what of the editor who continues to give a platform to such a person?

Biden allies are "rallying" to his defense re Kamala Harris's book. "No one wants to hear your pity party,” one said. Great quote. Too bad its blind, as are others except for one by Ron Klain. Why reporters & editors in 2025 allow blind quotes is beyond me. www.thedailybeast.com/biden-aide-s...

Sometime AI is correct: “Quisling" is a term … used to describe someone who collaborates with an enemy occupying force in their own country. The term originates from Vidkun Quisling, a Norwegian politician who led a collaborationist government during the German occupation of Norway.
