Genuine question, what’s populist about this? From what I can tell it seems like a good idea to bring the NHS back under the civil service. Am I missing/misunderstanding something here

For some on the right, no action will ever be sufficient. Even if we were to implement extreme measures, they would still criticize it as too slow and not enough. When do we stop pandering to these assholes

Shocking! He seemed like such a lovely bloke..

I agree with this sentiment. I suppose one thing to consider is keeping your friends close and your enemies closer. Ostracising Hungry on paper sounds good, but it could embolden the Axis of evil if Hungry joins with them

Rejoining the EU should be viewed as an urgent matter of national security

So far he’s underestimating Europe’s allegiance to the transatlantic partnership, that for all intents and purposes no longer exists

@mrjamesob.bsky.social please use your platform to drill this in. It needs to be part of the national conversation, like yesterday

Ughh it’s so frustrating that the UK is out of the EU. We should be there with a seat at the table doing our bit. When will we as a nation collectively agree that Brexit, the ultimate act of self proclaimed patriotism, is actually complete and utter self destruction and what Russia wants

Can someone explain what this means and the implications like I’m 10 years old? Asking for a friend

(I despise the man and will welcome a tougher approach but I don’t think now is the right time for that)

We all want to be more anti Trump but it’s very difficult diplomatically. We need to exhaust all the options we can before being publicly anti Trump

Definitely remnants of Corbyns labour. Easy to complain from the sidelines that anyone not as left wing as them is a ‘red Tory’. Bored of them and disappointing seeing some of their reactions to the Trump saga - surprisingly unpatriotic (similar to that of the far right)

I think the main focus over the next few months is trying to buy some time whilst Europe rearms, which unfortunately means paying dumb to the kind of man Trump is. It’s a diplomatic nightmare
