We made loads of dummies, bodies and body part puppets for Gen-Z.
This is the breathing, bleeding torso puppet for Robert Lindsey‘s self surgery scene. We had prosthetic versions, to match in the wides but the depth of excavation necessitate the puppet. I designed this skin to be wearable, too.

And here is a video taken by Silicone Department supervisor Angela Coffey of us testing with the dummy would stand up right and of engineering supervisor Elliot Lidgey performing a finally calibrated test to make sure it would move like a body when falling.

Here’s a second shot of the body caught under the wheels, grabbed as the last shot of the night.
Getting that roll under the car, without the body just squishing, is tricky but very satisfying when it works. All the limbs have to be jointed correctly and the little spray of blood is a treat.

Here’s a wide of the first impact of one of our “knock/down” bodies. This was for Gen-Z and was used with a quick edit, though they can be used with a VFX transition, too.
It’s a careful balance making a dummy that will stand unsupported, deform realistically and not destroy the vehicle.
