So shit on the company then, not the consumer 😂 a more reasonable take would be "it's not ok that these services exist and impact the industry/consumers the way they do", not "it's not ok to pay for a service and use it"

The way I see it is when the tolerant tolerate the intolerant, the tolerant are at an inherent disadvantage.

The intolerant recieve tolerance, the tolerant receive intolerance. It's not hard to see which side of this you'd rather be on, and how over time this benefits the intolerant massively

To be clear, my comment was against the idea that "a show about having cancer under universal healthcare would be boring". UH does have its issues which would provide plenty of drama for a TV show, but this isn't some argument to make out that the American system is better. It's absolutely not

UK based here - yeah don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to compare and make out that the US comes out favourably. Remove the extortionist madness and there will still be plenty of room for drama, but that's by no means an argument to keep the extortionist system

I mean I don't know about "boring" - there's plenty of issues with healthcare systems in the countries that do have government funded healthcare (I feel like this is more accurate than "universal healthcare") - but being forced to fund your own cancer treatment at least isn't one of them usually

Yeah it's just annoying getting to the end of a series where they're very clearly setting up a season 2, only to find out that Netflix has already gone "nope"

Just "making an effort to explain" IMO isn't what good sci fi is about. You should only hear about life support systems in detail if they're critically damaged or low on resources - otherwise as long as no one has an open window in space, we just assume they've got it sorted

I'm having a similar issue with Netflix - reluctant to start series 1 of anything because Netflix will have already cancelled it 😂

(I always do though, and am usually similarly disappointed lol)

I'm a big fan of the Expanse as well, and while we've been waiting for winds of winter, those guys have started and finished a whole 9 book series, several novellas too and also started a whole new series 😂

All of them appear to be gaming, and none of them appear to be actually using the toilet 😂

The media isn't "structurally hostile to the democratic party", it's structurally hostile to political ideas that benefit the working class.

As is the Democrat party
(It's better than the right/MAGA but Bernie Sanders was a non-option, for instance)

This is good, but for full anxiety:

The Star Wars opening crawl, but it's just a list of everything you've got right.

Every one of them is a lie, and everyone in the theatre knows it

But then that never really happened due to time issues (full time job, being a parent etc lol), hoping to find more of that in the new year 😂

Honestly I'm not particularly happy with this track, it's kinda generic post rock sounding stuff that I don't feel really goes anywhere interesting - but I stuck it out there in the hope that I'd then manage to record and put out a lot more (everyone has their dud tracks lol)...
