The flip also feels true, I mean they’re not doing a great job of selling the “why stripe” side. Like there’s a bunch of functional stuff stripe can do, like automatic splits for royalties type stuff, which PayPal can’t, and we’re not hearing that from Bandcamp either.

And to be clear, yeah Stripe are evil but I’m not 100% sure they’re any more evil than PayPal… I just don’t get why Bandcamp comms haven’t been more on top of this considering it’s been festering for months.

I get it, money shit is complex and global money shit is worse, but my personal experience was 5 mins and at no point did I need to give Stripe insane access to my bank account (Stripe know less about me than PayPal imo)… either I lucked out, it bugged out, or people are doing something wrong.
