But it's not inevitable, is it? It's actually a lot easier to spot and replace placeholder assets when you use low effort pink squares and stock sounds and stuff instead of AI generated facsimiles of the finished product. So AI is actively detrimental and has no reason to be in that process.

Placeholder? My understanding was that it was designed to react to players in a way they couldn't do with prerecorded voices, making it an intended part of the finished product.
