About every 50 years the US goes through this. After the civil war we had some bad actions in the lead up to WW1. After WW2 we are dealing with idiots again.

He's got Europe's back now.

No more strings attached from Biden and slow dripping support.

They have placed an order for 500 himars or equivalent systems from South Korea.

They have F-35s.

Poland is ready for a fight.
March 3, 2025 at 4:27 AM
The US has a requirement by Congress to be able to fight a war on two fronts....

This scenario is 100% planned for by the US.

Russia can barely take Ukraine. Poland would be in Moscow in two weeks. Poland has been arming massively.

Vermicelli soup flavoring. Its a powder made from salt, ginger, lemon grass, and it instantly makes any chicken dish better

Well the people under them won't listen to an illegal order, nor under them, nor under them.

Be wary if you begin to see purges through all ranks. Or the institution of political officers / comissars.

Nuance does not bring certainty so they look for authority figures that can provide certainty. They can't critically evaluate nuance or risk. That produces anxiety.

You only needed to read Facebook to see this in action during COVID.

I think a lot of it comes from being scared and I think many of them know they are not well informed or even know how research stuff.
February 20, 2025 at 6:21 AM
In my experience you will see a lot of blame on "others" for things they are experiencing even if they are due to their own choices or acts of nature.

That or they will be hyper religious as a way of sublimating their anxiety over things they don't understand.

This is the run up to WW2 all over again. With a dash of WW1 thrown in. Trump is both Woodrow Wilson and Neville Chamberlain combined.

This EO basically kneecapped every dept requiring every legal decision to go through the president or AG.

Firing govt workers touches federal employment law. Ask for an opinion.

Cutting funding touches a law. Ask for an opinion.

School lunch programs? Opinion

"in accordance with EO xxxxx I am asking about the official policy position on YYYY and under what statutory authority it applies"

According to this EO their own departments now probably can't fire people without asking first.

GUM IT UP
February 19, 2025 at 6:08 AM
This actually provides a legit way to stop a huge chunk of what he is doing because it now has to all go through him or his AG. Every one in every govt should flood the president and AG with questions about every point of law. Swamp them with compliance issues.

Critical thinking is like a muscle, it takes work to develop. And when you feel yourself making an assumption you have to challenge it, and examine the sources and your own bias. Its the challenge step that isn't necessarily automatic.
February 19, 2025 at 5:58 AM
Abstract thought is difficult for them.

Please note this not necessarily a disability, it's mostly from parents who don't pass on critical thinking skills and raised them with authoritarian style parenting

Things like street epistemology or Plato style discourse can drag those horses to water.

Morality not mortality. Phones are getting so helpful as to be useless.
February 19, 2025 at 5:53 AM
I learned this fact back in HS. It shocked me then.

They can't conceive of a thing until it happens to them. They cannot walk a mile in someone else's shoes. What is moral is what is lawful mostly in their view.
February 19, 2025 at 5:53 AM
Most people never make it past concrete thinking on Piaget's stages of intellectual development nor past law based mortality on Kohlberg moral development.

They literally can not conceive of something until it happens to them.
February 19, 2025 at 5:51 AM
They live in the mostly blue cities and cities can do the same to red counties in red states.
February 19, 2025 at 5:41 AM
So when are you useless corporate Dems gonna fight? Tubberville blocked nominations for months. Why don't you do the same? Get out of the way, and let the new blood like AOC take over.

All hat and no horse.
February 19, 2025 at 5:40 AM
In the coming months you will need to closely watch any actions involving Gen Mattis or others who stood up to trump like him.
February 16, 2025 at 7:33 AM
You will know their intent, when suddenly, you see the GOP push for gun control far in excess of what the Democrats ever asked for. MMW.
February 16, 2025 at 7:31 AM
The only way this works out for them is draconian gun control next. Far in excess of anything the Dems ever proposed. Expect national laws requiring police approval to arm yourself. Not just background checks. They will line right up and back it. MMW.
