Day 5, Wednesday: North Beach Park, Burlington, VT to Montréal hostel/hotel

Weather: very warm, very sunny
Of note: super-flat most of the way, bike ferry, no shade at the border, difficult-to-spot entrance to rail trail in Quebec, shadflies along St Lawrence seaway

#Bostréal
Two cyclists, one in high visibility jacket and black shorts and the other in red-and-white Bostréal jersey and black shorts, are riding side by side on a gravel rail trail causeway section of the Island Line Trail with Lake Champlain off to either side. Visible in the distance ahead is South Hero island. A scene at the bike ferry along the Island Line Trail: about 20 bicycles are arranged in bike racks on part of the ferry and visible outside the ferry on the dock are about a dozen cyclists who will be waiting their turn after the ferry returns. A cyclist in a red-and-white Bostréal jersey and black shorts is riding on a bike lane of a bridge with the sun above in a whispy-cloudy sky and the cityscape of Montréal in the distance. The sun is low and the lighting almost silhouettes the cyclist. Three smiling cyclists wearing red-and-white Bostréal jerseys are standing behind their bikes next to a grey-brick wall of a building holding signs that read: “Bostréal .. I biked 400 miles form Boston to Montréal .. bostoncyclistsunion.org”
