The last mammal one from the East Asian section is the Red Panda enclosure. Cute animal that like to play with boxes.

It inhabits the mountain forests of southern China, Nepal, India and Myanmar. It is one of the highest-living animals in the world (2,000–4,300 m).

The enclosure directly above the sea lion bay is another Japanese-style habitat for the Red-crowned Crane. The Red-crowned Crane is found in Siberia, the Kuril and Sakhalin Island. In autumn, flocks of birds fly to countries of East Asia where they spend the winter.

The elevated habitat overlooking the bay from the Japanese gazebo is the Japanese Macaque enclosure. This primate is able to withstand frost and snow in winter. It can even dig through a layer of snow up to 1.5 meters thick in search of food.

Next enclosure in Sundalsfojden Zoo is habitat of American Bison. A close relative of the Wisent. The American bison is a large animal of the bison family. Huge herds of bison, numbering in the millions, once roamed across North America from Alaska to the Gulf of Mexico.

A new habitat is coming. The beloved California sea lions, amazing beasts, distantly related to dogs and raccoons. They spend most of their time in the sea, where they hunt fish and other smaller prey, and are therefore perfectly adapted to moving in the water.
