If you're having a hard time letting go of somebody's potential in dating I find it useful (even as someone unsure if they want kids) to think: this is how (s)he would make our kids feel. Do you want someone who would make your kids feel like this?

You have the "what are we" conversation to try and establish a relationship with someone who doesn't want you, I have that conversation to make sure the fuckboy leaves me alone in order to intricately sabotage the connection through wanting transparency and commitment, we are not the same.

I legitimately think half the reason a lot of guys have commitment phobia is because they were never taught to see their own worth beyond how much money they can make. Now that the economy is crashing, the essence of what they feel able to contribute to a romantic relationship is going up in smoke.

Insecure people will attempt to emotionally blackmail you into commitment out of desperation instead of actually trying to gauge compatibility by spending lots of time genuinely getting to know you. I’m over it. Why would I fight for someone who actively hurts me for the sake of their broken ego

Some of u guys are out here trying to communicate with emotionally abusive people but please know by definition it doesn’t work. The only way it might hypothetically is if the other person is in regular therapy but even then i would hedge my bets.

I think the reason why anxious-avoidant trap is such a popular relationship dynamic to romanticize is partially because if you literally hurt due to your diamentrically opposed needs clashing constantly, then the logic is that the love must be extremely "pure". Not saying it's a good trope.
