5/Comparing Spain to Sweden shows some differences. In Sweden, the bottom decile pays ~10% in taxes, like Spain. But the top decile pays nearly 40%, 10 percentage points higher than Spain. This reflects stronger progressivity at the top in Sweden. (Source: Amberg, Jansson, Klein & Picco; 2022).

4/ Results show Spain’s tax system is progressive.
•The average tax rate rises as income increases.
•From ~8.22% in the bottom decile to ~31% for the top percentile. The graph demonstrates a clear upward trend in the tax burden by income. 📈
