The last NYRA article from Kate Wagner is actually good and you should read it in its entirety instead of limiting your kneejerk reaction at out-of-context screenshotted quotes. Just sign up with a throwaway email and read it. It's free.

Built a bike for the little brother who is currently studying abroad (little... He's 22). Marin frame from the '90s from a friend, 20€ including wheels. Plus 180€ in various parts. Nice shiny chromed stx groupset from the parts bin. I had to drill out a screw for the fenders but apart from that, ok.

Getting some conflicting information about the relevance of last night's game (as an Italian I have no idea how baseball is supposed to work)

If those economists could read what sociologists write they'd be very upset

Ok I stand corrected. Hard to tell through Internet but from the measurements, you actually might need a spacer there. Basically you want the cassette higher than the free hub body - see horrible drawing attached. Just try with a spacer, if you can tighten the cassette with it then leave it on.

Testing my homebrew yagi-uda for the two meter band, great reports (59+20) with 1.5 watt (line of sight helps)... Ready for POTA/SOTA this fall!

@ryeisenberg.bsky.social I tried the small batch focaccia recipe (doubled) with pizza flour rather than AP flour - here the protein amount in AP is lower than in the US. It's looking and smelling delicious - I'm waiting for it to cool down before tasting 👍🏼

This also shows how having cyclists in a single file makes the overtake longer and more dangerous for everyone - as you need to go on the other lane anyway, if they were in a group taking the lane the overtake would need half the length.

Bluesky has hd videos now, so please enjoy Wera sitting like a human to clean her toes.

You will have to read the paper for the full results, but here's a teaser for you: Both objective (left) and self-perceived (right) rural living conditions are strongly associated with less egalitarian and more "traditional" gender ideologies.

We got my partner a Preamble in the same color and it completely transformed her relationship with cycling. It's incredible how much gear actually matters to have a pleasant experience. That's probably my favorite bike right now (here with my self-built MTB)

You can do it! I also need to get started on the Harec level license - the frequencies allowed to me are all dead now and I am staring at 20m like a starving Victorian newsboy outside a bakery. Or like my cats at the fridge.

Antennas are up, ready for the VHF contest.

A happy st. George to all the guides and scouts who celebrate all around the world! Be prepared!

Beautiful pictures you received Michael! Can I ask you what was your setup? This was my best result with a homemade moxon + UV-k5 and robot36 on the phone... I had my partner help me with tracking FRAM with the antenna as I was shifting through the frequencies

Where is my Master and Commander fandom on this platform. There is a distinct lack of "beat to quarters" and "Killick there!" on my timeline.

made some ciabatta bread, it's quite good. We already had three out of eight rolls.

In August @antvalentim.bsky.social and I rode from Coimbra to Santiago following the Camino da Costa in four days, pretty much without planning.

As a reminder not to overthink and say yes to adventure more, I got my bike tattooed, as it was about midway. Looking forward to the next adventure!

Apparently it didn't load in the previous post :( but here is some bike polo for you!

Rounding up the weekend with a little bit of bike polo at a historical squat in my hometown. Incredible bike control skills on display!

I think this can make numbers here. I suspect the intersection of Tumblr and this social network to be quite large. At least in terms of humor.
