Loving the remake. Last time I played FFT was in February, but this feels like a new game. I didn’t expect that voice acting would add so much to it! All the quality of life upgrades are amazing. I love this game even more now.

That’s exactly my point. They spent a bunch of time on early access, updates taking many months between each other, finetuning everything. Then 1.0 hits and they manage to fix this amount of stuff in less than a month? This has to have been planned, it just didn’t make the deadline.

The ending is the same, the “nuance” was the problem. There was no nuance, it was blunt, it fell flat because it came out of nowhere. Now they are actually giving us time and context to make it make sense.

Just an absolutely unqualified guess from me, but it is hard for me to believe they would release the game in that state without a very serious reason

Seems it wasn’t about people not liking it, but about SG releasing an unfinished game. They are adding a lot of voice acting, scenes and new assets, hard to believe they made all of this in a month. The ending felt bad because it felt extremely undercooked, rushed; this patch just proves it.

My completely baseless guess is that they had to rush because they had to commit to the Switch 2 release. It felt very strange that they would release the game as it is. I didn’t play through the new ending yet, but the original one just didn’t feel like something from Supergiant.
