Here is my guy Mulberry. He’s a dumbo, with ears on the side of his head, and he looks like a groundhog when he runs. Here, he’s enjoying a nap in a hanging basket. This guy really marches to the beat of his own drum, and is famous for doing a fireman’s pole move off the apparatus my wife built.

Baby rat update for anyone interested: they are not babies anymore, basically teenagers at this point. Three of the boys on the left (L->R: Valentino, Fennel, and Lightning Bolt). On right: Fennel is doing his rock climber stuff. Valentino and Fennel are the most charismatic but they’re all goofs

My books came in! Said elsewhere that as a kid I had the goal of making a record and writing a book. I have made a whole lot of records in my life by this point, but I’ve finally accomplished the other goal. Grateful as possible to have gotten to do it.

Ferdinando’s Focciaria in Red Hook is closing after 121 years. I can’t even begin to summarize how important this place has been to my family—5 whole generations now. My mom grew up around the corner. It’s been a pilgrimage site for all of us my entire life. As my cousin said, nothing good can stay.
