Ireland has a unique exemption to the AI act where it can opt out of some of the same safeguards of other EU countries.

Now the new Irish govt explicitly stated the intention to roll out FRT, where should the line be drawn between keeping people safe and spying?

Indeed, the only reason to “engage” with stuff like the washing machine is to do the thing and waste the least amount of time on it. Designing it to do something else would miss the point. It’s not even an issue of privacy but the actual needs.
