It’s mostly genetic. I eat healthy but have a high baseline. I reduced my LDL 50 percent on 10 mg Crestor and 10 mg zetia.

Pretty much everyone in their early twenties will have a CAC of zero. Calcification is irreversible.

The reason I ask is that it usually takes decades for plaque to calcify. Calcification is an end stage finding. Too many people get a false sense of security from CAC.

Probiotics typically have a very small impact on cholesterol. To get a 50 percent drop is a dramatic decrease that people would get from a high intensity statin or extreme diet change. Consider getting a full health check up as there might be something else going on especially if weight loss

The latest research says HDL makes no difference. It’s not good nor bad. If your above the recommended level then can take a small dose of rosuvastatin - that’s what I take. The baseline is mostly genetic and not influenced by how much one exercises.

HDL levels don’t matter for risk based on the latest research. Their LDL is a bit high. Anything over 60 and you’re laying down plaque.
