Traditionally (before the dictatorship took over), you know where in the ballot your party spot is so they can advertise “vote top left”.

In Venezuela, each party has a spot in the ballot with their logo and colors. So, one candidate have as many spots to vote for them as parties are endorsing them. It might be 20 different little parties supporting the same person.
