Some people just don't know how cities work: make transport work for the masses, reliable and predictable people use them. People use cars when they're fed up with a disfunctional public transport system. I'm glad to hear that the motion passed.

I don't think so. I think they'll try and see if Trump can get his third term. If there was ever going to be an attempt for a third term, I think Trump would do it.

All the best Chewie!

The joke is that he's the OG DEI: the high profile Maori MP on National's front bench in 1992, then a leader of a political party in 1996. GTFOH!

Very scary. They either haven't learned from history or simply don't give a f*ck. We're living in an important point in modern history...

That was so infuriating that he was justifying his entitlements while taking many away from those who do have the cash reserves he has to ride out this cost of living crisis. That will so haunt him come the election!

This sacking is all about protecting our trade with the US, but do they think that will make everything alright? The US will find a way to bully us into making a bad and unfair trade agreement. We need to get smarter and not keep sucking up to thin skinned bullies.

Sounds like a great storyline for a WWE show. Terrifying that it's the actual state of our government...

It seems like he's internalized the kingmaker moniker that the press gave him several elections ago. Now we see him say the quiet part out loud...

Why do something sensible like spend good money future proof our key transport infrastructure when we can overspend on band aid short term solutions and get our future taxpayers to foot the massive bill to overhaul everything?

P.S. it was all Labour's fault!

The government using it's power to attack local businesses and communities to help create contracts for their mates? Corruption! Bullies!

What an amazing resource you're providing for the nation! I hope there's a backup of this somewhere... It's too important not to learn from and to shape our future.

Funny how school lunches weren't an issue until the Assistant Minister of Education decided to make it an issue. Who was the one that politicized school lunches? (Hint: it wasn't the opposition!)

So there is some young blood getting in there!

But as other people have pointed out the lanes themselves aren't the biggest contributor to the downturn in Wellington. Perhaps making it an affordable place to live/ rent to start with?
Late last year, Stuff ran an article of new businesses starting up as old establishments closed.

I'm encouraged to see more people using the cycle lanes now that they're joined up. Truthfully I've been afraid to cycle in Wellington because the lanes are narrow and cars get impatient and try to run you over!

Shocking and infuriating that the FSU would undermine something as important as online protection for hate speech this way. I struggle to understand how protecting people from hateful speech online is something to fear. Taking a couple of seconds to think about your language is obviously too hard.

But also the electorate need to get past the slogans: National saying it's the better manager of the economy doesn't make it so. 2/2

Fantastic analysis! It's a shame that politics spoiled the road to recovery we were on. It highlights how important it is Labour needed to communicate what they were doing and how their strategy was working. 1/2

Please define the nation's expectations minister. Just so we know we're talking about the same expectations.

Will we see classroom behaviour issues spike and attention rates fall because our tamariki would rather starve than eat that junk? What a way to look after our nation's future!
