Thank you! The only textures in the scene are some procedural Voronoi textures mapped in world space and a displacement texture that is actually projected in the compositor. I learned some wild stuff over the last few weeks.

Sorry to wisecrack here but I'd like to point out that a katana is worn with the blade facing upward in the sheath. It's against visual design intuition (swoosh kind of goes the wrong way) but it's done so that you draw the sword sliding on its bland back in order to not damage the sheath over time.

I'm not wise enough yet to figure out the end in all its details. But I'm optimistic that I will be when I eventually reach that point.
