We measure the surface texture before and after use from scans taken with focus variation microscopy, and use multiscale geometric analyses to determine if the surface textures are measurably different

I am particularly interested in #lithics, and how we can learn about past human behaviors through understanding their function. This has lead me to work with engineers to identify tool function through applying methods developed for surface metrology to archaeological objects.

My research is mostly focused on the transitions from hunting-gathering to the origins of agriculture, with a interest in hunter-gatherers before the Neolithic. I direct fieldwork projects in Jordan and Cyprus, working on Epipalaeolithic sites.

Been on here for a week, so it is probably time that I introduced myself! I work at the University of Tulsa (TU) and an #archaeologist who is broadly interested in the importance of material culture our lives and how objects have helped shape the past.
