Assuming that there was a moral distinction between an 8 year old and a 15 year old (I don’t think there is and there is NOT a meaningful legal distinction), many of the survivors have characterized their experience as human trafficking and their sexual encounters as rape. Rich people I knew were dim, petty and frivolous people. They could not STAND to be inconvenienced. And sometimes cutting out a useful business associate, just because he has trafficked minors, is too much of inconvenience to be borne — so they don’t. And their life flows along its glide path.
