it wasn’t a political statement to avoid the us on tour so much as fear for safety of his fans, but it is a political statement to have a latino, pro-LGBTQ artist singing in spanish during one of the biggest events of the year

my understanding was that he didn’t want to put his fans at risk since ICE would likely target his concerts. a majority of people going to the superbowl won’t be his fans and I doubt ICE will target the superbowl just because he’s playing at halftime

how it feels staying home from the bar every weekend
