Agreed. Students need to learn responsible usage of AI and the only way that occurs is if an adult teaches them. Otherwise, they teach themselves and tragedies continue to occur. Blocking the applications on district devices is not the solution. #edusky

Definitely prioritizing teacher development but how do we get teachers on board with being a priority? Meaning helping them understand teaching techniques/lesson delivery skills need to be in a continuous improvement model as well. #edsi6321 #edusky

Understanding that you're not the smartest person in the room and creating an environment where everyone listens and all opinions are valid. Also being willing to start over if it isn't working.

@lmcisn.bsky.social You've definitely laid out the cheat code - those process would build a culture of growth whether intended or not. Are you doing these things at your campus? #edsi6321

@astafford5.bsky.social Believing they can do hard things, holding them accountable and teaching them to excel rather than assuming they cannot. #edsi6321

Build a bond with them first by stepping into their world whether with relevant content or where they see value. For instance, my senior English class is always through the lens of the you could do this as a job. -- i.e. author, cartoonist or whatever we are discussing. #edsi6321 #edusky

@txroorob.bsky.social how do you perceive an "accountability framework" fulfilling that role? Perhaps other school improvement tools such as a needs assessment would work better towards changing mindsets. #edsi6361

@abeene.bsky.social What would that focus look like? Measurements based on how much an individual student progresses? #edsi6321

Holding everyone to the same performance standards would increase teacher retention. It is challenging to watch rule enforcement happen intermittently and drains teacher motivation and loyalty. #edsi6321

Core content is a valuable requirement. Performing as an instructional leader without knowledge of effective instruction in that content regulates you to participating in accountability measures like grade rather than an active and engaged PLC member. #edsi6321 #edusky @tbrandenburg.bsky.social

Using research-based practices such as taking into account specific teacher wants and needs for professional learning aids in this because teachers will find value in something they identified as a necessity. #EDSI6321 #edusky

@theandrewkohls.bsky.social Building relationships is the cornerstone of student success. Teachers who incorporate popular culture or content important to students provide opportunities to build engagement and connections. #EDSI6321
