Oh, I hear a lot about that point in history, so I'll have to check it out. Lately, I'm trying to avoid more of the darker things (and history is DARK). However, I always find myself going toward darker topics. 🤷

NONSENSE! I love meeting new writers/readers and knowing what they like. I tend to put those books on my TBR (so thank you for the recs!)...though it's a little out of control at the moment...haha...I actually wanted to pick up more history books, too!

If we're talking nostalgia: Faerie Wars (portal fantasy), A Great and Terrible Beauty (gothic). Recent: Jade War (Fonda Lee/Spec-fic), The Fifth Season (NK Jemisin/Spec-fic), Only Mostly Devastated (YA/LGBT Romance)....hmmmmm, can't remember the others. I'd have to look on my book shelf 😅

Hmmmm, well, I'm interested! I read everything. I just have a soft goal of 100 spec-fic books this year, so I'm currently pulling back from other genres for the time being.

OHHH, I found I tend to write more socio-political fantasy stuff. That's what my current WIP turned into when I thought it'd be more on the 'romance' side of things.

It's really just a mash-up. I primarily write sci-fantasy (sci-fi and fantasy). However, some say it's primarily for sci-fi or fantasy fiction specifically. Here's one article:

Ugh, this just reminds me I have to update mine. 😭 My husband and I have been talking about upgrading our gaming PCs. Mine's quite old now and still kicking, but the GAMES (aka distractions)...they're TOO INTERESTING!!!

Don’t force yourself. If I’m stuck I’ll just lay in bed listening to music, play a game, or read a book. I space out a lot (intentionally and unintentionally), and scenes just play out in my head.
