Brunch on Sunday was a sweet and savory affair featuring my signature buttermilk pancakes; a ton of deep-fried, buttermilk-battered fried chicken; bacon, berries and watermelon margs! Also, four bottles of prosecco gave their lives so we could drink, eat, and be merry!

This creamy lemon pasta I made with wilted spinach, garlic, crushed red pepper flakes, and pecorino romano cheese was a show-stopper! (And the baked lemon pepper chicken wasn't too bad either!)

Made this strawberry spoon cake for the first time last night as a quick n' easy dessert and was blown away by how delicious it was!

(The recipe is from @nytimes.com cooking.)

Baked a heart-shaped, citrus olive oil cake for Super Bowl Sunday

It's already half-gone as of this morning.

Patrick lost, but what I felt most sorry for was his hair. Poor dry, "high body count" hair. Somebody call Angie K and Lisa Barlow #RHOSLC

Also, one week in, and I am not adjusting well to not having something to do every day!

I'm starting to think that vote wasn't about the price of groceries...

And by "starting," I mean this was the saddest and most obvious dog whistle ever, yet so many fell for it

Howdy, all —

Today is my last day at @huffpost as its 3rd editor-in-chief. It was a tremendous honor, and I will always have the utmost respect for the journalists who work there. The decision to leave was hard (we were facing layoffs; I left to save jobs), but it was the only decision in my mind.

My Grandpa loved Jimmy Carter. Once, when Grandpa visited my dad's work, he wanted to know why they had photos of other former presidents (and the then-current President Ronald Reagan), but not Carter. Later, Grandpa would meet him when the former president came to Arkansas for a fishing trip

Had a white Christmas in Woodstock with @mjgmedia.bsky.social ... apologies to this man's waistline with all the food I cooked!

Food was made here! Merry Christmas!

I also have to somehow only make enough food for two people with some leftovers to snack on, but not so many leftovers that it's like I was trying to feed the neighborhood.

Can I pull it off? Only time will tell!

I haven't cooked a full, holiday meal in a minute (pictured are past meals), so this takes a certain degree of planning. Plus, @mjgmedia.bsky.social and I are doing one of his family traditions this year — having fried chicken instead of roasting it!

Spending my first Christmas in New York instead of heading home to the Midwest and debating if I should start prepping the cornbread dressing first or make crust/bake an apple pie because cooking an entire holiday meal is a marathon, not a sprint!
