Clarification. Clay's Ark added the 2nd element to Patternmaster. The other books in the series explained Doro's selective breeding & the importance of Anyanwu. In all fairness, I did not read Patternmaster because it didn't hold my interest. Whereas, the other books in the series held my attention.

Patternmaster was her 1st published book, but based on the writing, she might have started writing it in her teens. She then wrote other books to predate when that book took place & I liked those books, except for Clay's Ark. CA felt like it's not a part of that series. It's a horror story by itself

Yes. I've read all the books in the Lilith's Brood series. I've also read all but the last book in the Patternist's series. Clay's Ark was a part of that series. I wasn't feeling the 4th book, Patternmaster. It was actually written before the 1st ones in the series & when she was young.
