Town of Homer met last night for a public hearing about electronic billboards along I-81 over 150 opponents showed up & spoke against it, and no one in favor of it. They voted not to proceed with it! Praise God for that!

Have been wrestling with pneumonia for the past three weeks! Finally kicking it! I thought I had it previously, but this time I went to the Guthrie Clinic and had it confirmed. It was deep in my lungs and is taking forever to get cleared out. Now I understand how dangerous pneumonia can be.

Yesterday, read a post by my favorite author, Taylor Stevens, about her medical issues: Postural Orthostatic Tacycardia Syndrome which has created a "brain fog" which prevents her from creating new fiction. Interesting read! Hope she recovers fully!

I am rereading the "Lady Sherlock" series of books by Sherry Thomas. It is an engaging storyline with Sherlock Holmes being the pseudonym for Charlotte Holmes, a disgraced young gentlewoman who has to earn her own way in the world, along with her sponsor, a retired actress who supports her efforts.

Had a new, metal roof put on the backside of my house yesterday, because shoveling snow off the porch to keep meltwater from leaking into my living room had destroyed the shingles. At least I got it done before 45/47's tariffs drove up the price of roofing materials.

I finally agree with Rand Paul on something! He said yesterday that "I have a deficit with my grocery store." It sums up exactly what goes on between countries in trade. We buy what we need from them, and they buy what we have that they need from us. So long as we get what we paid for, we are equal.

Pete Hegseth is reported to have brought his wife to meetings with foreign leaders. Why is that? Is it because he has a drinking problem that he wants to end? Does she have to be there to ensure he does not start drinking wine with his peers in the European governments.

Pushback works, part gazillion:

"Here are the facts: DOGE moved forward with plans to close multiple field offices. Then, without public notice or explanation, they reversed their plans. Now they are trying to pretend like they were never planning to close the offices."

How the Social Security Administration and DOGE are gaslighting Americans
The Social Security Administration (SSA) sent an email on March 27 to beneficiaries saying that reports that field offices were closing was an invention of fake news media.

My Dad would have turned 100 today. Ten years ago, on the occasion of his 90th birthday, I composed this "Hands" limerick for him. I miss you, Dad — corny limericks and all!

Thank you, President Trump! Our long national nightmare of accurate weather forecasts is coming to an end!

“There’s no question it will lead to errors. It’s just a matter of how bad will it be... We know these things help with forecasts, so why are we cutting them?”

With fewer weather balloons due to government staffing cuts, forecasts may be less accurate
At least 10 sites have suspended or limited weather balloon launches, which used to occur twice daily, because of the Trump administration’s cuts to the National Weather Service.

A come-to-Jesus moment for American lawyers, and for America's most important law firms.

This is it.

Law firms refuse to represent Trump opponents in the wake of his attacks
The result is an extraordinary threat to constitutional rights of due process and representation and a far weaker effort to challenge Trump’s actions in court than during his first term.
