It has been a labor of love - she has learned more than we ever could have dreamed. If you happen to be in midtown, or even if you aren't, I encourage you to come check it out. I think it is going to be very special, and I'm not just saying that as a proud father.

She then figured out how to make it a reality - leading a collective of over 100 students and connecting with various non profits to pair the students with the responders. She raised money, found a venue, devised a program, wrote a speech, interviewed a responder and made a powerful painting.

There is also a presentation on the MainStage with students reading their work and some special guests including first responders. Tess had this idea in the spring, and through Projekt NYC, applied and received a grant from AmeriCorps - one of only 50 given to students in the country.
