I dance, improvise, teach, share The Feldenkrais Method, practice Mindfulness, apply Design Thinking, am working on being certified in Critical Response Process, and serve as the Chair for UW-Milwaukee’s Dept of Dance. All views expressed are my own.
I got to dance with a wonderful group of people during my Spontaneous Self workshop. We explored dance improvisation from many perspectives, and had great fun dancing together!  I can't wait to get back into the studio with more public workshops and classes! Stay tuned for more info! 💛💚💙

Spontaneous Self is a framework for dance improvisation research & training through four practices: Integral Technique, Authentic Contact, Unmapping, & Collaborative Composition - join me on 1/31 for an all-day workshop exploring these practices & how the integrated into spontaneous performance.

In the Spontaneous Self workshop we explore solo improv through a somatic lens - how can the Feldenkrais Method offer insights into dancing beyond our habitual ways of moving? We'll apply that experience to dancing with others through precise and expansive improv scores. info: danielburkholder.com.

Spontaneous Self explores #dance #improv, including dance technique with the focus on improvisation. How do you develop more movement capacity & aim for spontaneity? How can training lead to more options, not narrower ones?

Join me on 1/31 to explore these questions through an embodied practice!

Join me Jan 31st for an all-day #dance #improv workshop exploring solo, duet, & group improv, applying The #Feldenkrais Method to improvising & exploring the intersection of Authentic Movement & Contact Improvisation. Will be a very full day, that will be lots of fun!
