Something that helps is keeping in mind that the projectiles are coming from the character model not the camera so you want to aim slightly to the right. You can also just use characters like Jeff, Iron Man, and Squirel Girl that have explosive shots, or a melee character.

Me and my wife recommend VGR

I have this one and it's pretty great, sure it doesn't have the extra reserves of air trigger but the extra chill clip shots from deconstruct make it really worthwhile imo
