I don’t know about ethical stances, but I do have a very niche pet-peeve that I take a bit too seriously:
As a former linguistics expert, I feel miffed when a letter “q” not followed by “u” is still sounded with an implied “u”.
For example, I take umbrage at when Qatar is pronounced “Quatar”.
