Since last November I've been working on an alternative to Facebook that will be a non-profit cooperative. It uses a friend model rather than followers, supports long form posts and groups, with more to come.

Open Beta started a few weeks ago and the mobile apps are now code complete!

So much academic software and digital infrastructure in a nutshell. This is often what happens when people hire agencies and contractors to build software according to their specifications, instead of finding experienced technical co-founders to help solve their target problems.

With that, I'm playing with world generation. I've been generating heightmaps with an erosion simulation, and then using the same erosion simulation to generate the world's water and water flow.
