So this is what I've been working on recently. This little tool helps me test responsive designs on my laptop - it lets you see multiple screen sizes simultaneously instead of constantly resizing. Figured I'd share in case anyone else finds it useful!

The paradox of social media: Wanting to share experiences and connect with other people, but constantly second-guessing if I'm just adding to the noise...

So I fell off the face of the Earth there for a minute. Getting back into it now, new location, new ideas, renewed energy.

Went to the IGDA Melbourne Meetup last night! My cup is full, it's such a good vibe to be able to talk to so many people in the same headspace as myself!

Feeling inspired to pick up my game prototype again so I have something to show next time!

Great weekend disconnecting with friends. Now staring at my projects folder trying to remember where past-me left off. The eternal Monday question: which thread do I pull first?

A few friends of mine asked me how I built my Dragonstaff, so I made a short guide using Github pages. Feels good to work on things just for the fun of sharing info.

When I struggle to find a new idea, I look back in my to-do app for things I've done multiple times. It can help me identify things that I could do better, or automate.

Decision paralysis hitting hard while choosing my next project. Being tired doesn't help - turns out mental bandwidth is pretty important for picking paths. Maybe that's a sign to rest first, choose later.

I'm tossing up what I want to work on next. It's either picking up a game prototype I was working on last year, or I had an idea to transfer playlists between platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.

I'm not sure which appeals to me more, but it's nice to have ideas.

Been reflecting on a month of posting and realising I'm probably not using the platform to its full effect. I am going to have to rethink my approach, see what changes I can make to grow more.
February 2, 2025 at 9:23 AM
So with January behind us, I'm reflecting on the fact I didn't do as much as I'd hoped too. It wasn't a good month for me, so I'm choosing to let it go and focusing on the next step.

Told some people at work about Paneful and now they’re using it, love to see it being out to use!
January 31, 2025 at 12:06 PM
Launched Paneful yesterday - my tool for testing responsive websites.

Small ripples instead of big waves, but that's alright. The joy was in the building, and now it's out there doing its job. On to the next thing.

A few years back, I switched from a multi-monitor setup to just my laptop. It's been the best change I ever made, liberating even - no more dependency on the 'perfect' workspace.

Just me and my silver brick, ready to work from anywhere.

So close to releasing the project I’ve been working on. Can’t tell if I’m feeling more anxious or relief.

Either way, soon, soooonnnn…

Does anyone else find themselves spending more time setting up their environment than actually doing work?

I find myself sometimes going down the rabbit hole, and it takes a while before I realize that the nth-degree gains aren't worth the time investment.
January 26, 2025 at 9:06 AM
I was going through my phone today, deleting apps. I noticed a pattern: the ones I keep solve a real problem or bring genuine joy.

Everything else is just digital clutter wearing a badge count.

Sometimes you need the snack, and that's okay. Progress isn't measured in perfect days, but in trendlines - true for both nutrition and work.

One off day doesn't break the git history.
January 24, 2025 at 9:13 AM
It took me years to realize: the foundation of good work isn't tools or talent - it's sleep, food, and movement.

When those three are dialed in, complex problems become manageable. When they're not, even simple tasks feel overwhelming.

Sometimes the most productive thing we can do with our time is rest. The work will be there tomorrow...
January 22, 2025 at 9:39 AM
Started asking myself a simple question when focus drifts: 'Is this what I intend to be doing right now?' Amazing how a quick check-in can bring you back to center. Sometimes the simplest tools are the most effective.

Embrace "beginning again" as a developer. Those moments when you're stuck in analysis paralysis or fighting your own expectations - take a breath, stretch your legs, and start anew.

Previous attempts aren't wasted, they're iterations.

Cursor is fast, but keeping track of where it's placing code across the project requires extra attention. Good tool, just needs a careful review process.
January 19, 2025 at 9:21 AM
I love side-quests, going down rabbit holes, all that fun stuff. But I’ve just been doing that all day…

I feel a mixture of fulfilled and disappointed that I didn’t actually do what I’d set out to do…
January 18, 2025 at 9:04 AM
Been hesitant about Copilot/Cursor - feels like I learn less when using them.

Going to experiment with using them just for boilerplate code and see how that goes.
