It was inevitable that the post-WWII consensus that far right dictators should never again be allowed to scapegoat & persecute those they saw as ‘enemies within’ would have a limited shelf life. But who’d have thought it’d be a US government that ended it?

The situation of people arriving by boat to #Malta was precarious before COVID-19. During the #pandemic, it got worse: migrants' rights were curtailed. This legacy has proven durable.
