I saw the Hammer Hound at 8 years old, on a double bill with Sherlock Holmes and the Spider Woman in BBC2's 'Masters of Terror' season. A big step on my path to becoming a lifelong Holmes afficionado (and occasional writer). Though obviously not suggesting all 8 year olds are the same.

If only there were John Carradine and Sheila Keith figures to inhabit a Doll's House of the Long Shadows!

This was definitely the scene that came to mind for me.

It's actually Hardy at his most understated. A very good performance. Director Lawrence Gordon Clark said that Hardy had said to him before filming that he had a tendency to go over the top and specifically asked him to say if he needed to rein it in.

Where Curtis admitted he lifted the reincarnated bride element directly from Dark Shadows, which, obviously, he created and produced.
