Holy moly: The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope construction is completed! That's fantastic news — much needed right now — and I am very much looking forward to when this beast launches. It has 100X the field of view of Hubble.

One. Hundred. *At the same resolution*.

The planned expansion of constellations, coupled with some of the features of upcoming missions, will mean that at least one proposed observatory will see an average of nearly 100 satellite tracks in every exposure.
Planned satellite constellations may swamp future orbiting telescopes
Planned orbital observatories would see satellites cross nearly all of their images.

The Park Service & nonprofit Rock Creek Conservancy are trying to get support to renovate & reopen Carter Barron. It could cost $40 million to rebuild the stage, restrooms, box office and other public areas, but no federal, private or local funding has been secured for the construction costs.
Music legends played Rock Creek Park’s amphitheater. Can it reopen?
Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen played at the D.C. venue. It closed in 2017. Advocates hope to raise $40 million to reopen it.

Welcome, Space Citizens

Let's debunk this whole "space is hard" mantra.

Looking at all NASA-led missions launched since 2000, only 4 out of ~60 missions experienced total failures.

Two of these were due to issues with the commercial launch vehicle, & two were spacecraft issues.

That is a *93% success rate.* (1/n)
