This brings to mind a shadowy giant I feared as a child when going to bed. I've never had to 'write him away'--the idea of him just disappeared one day. But writing away other traumas, fears, anxieties is so very helpful!

I couldn't agree with you more! I think we write totally different genres, but as someone who can't stand to read the same thing over and over again, I can't write that either.
