I've been studying this material heavily for the past couple of years, so I have a lot of information to share. Come through and check it out. You can listen or share your own stories if you like. This is a free online event sponsored by the good folks at Kheprw Institute.

When I was a kid, my granddaddy used to tell me stories about Brer Rabbit. In doing so he brought me into an oral tradition that stretches back thousands of years. I would become an adult and Granddaddy would become an ancestor before I found out the Brer Rabbit stories came from Africa.

The Kheprw Institute and Sheree Renee Thomas curated a Translocal Afrofuturism Gathering. For my part it involved hosting a dinner at the Paul Laurence Dunbar Library and giving a keynote on my Afrofuturism work and bringing the library back.
