not invested, i just like and agree with him right now (future tbd), and was responding to a weird post. if your opinion is so unimportant, why did you post it?
November 30, 2025 at 7:57 PM
not as much of a defeat as the mainstream narrative went, but sure. my political opinion is that nothing but socialism (or the green’s move in that direction) is enough to take on capital, so we have to keep trying.

well i'm pleasantly surprised. but there's not a million miles between the labour 2019 manifesto and the current green one.

he has political positions which he is confident in - as you do!! it's just a political disagreement! such an irritating centrist trait, to think that you are the ultimate reality knowers, so anyone to the left is at best dishonest. go on - what did you think about corbyn?
November 30, 2025 at 6:50 PM
if he hasn't changed green party policy (and he can't, they're much more democratic than that) wouldn't that be evidence that he's *not* on the make? as he was also democratically elected? you're really not making a lot of sense.
November 30, 2025 at 6:08 PM
no idea how any of my posts can be interpreted that way, i certainly don't think he's beyond criticism. i guess you can't link me any "polanski is a paragon of something" posts though. just say you're a green centrist and be done with it. why do centrists always have to do this weird personal thing?
November 30, 2025 at 6:05 PM
well i don't get that impression. it just sounds to me like you don't agree with his politics. leftism (to the extent professed by the green party, at least) is hardly a road to riches and power here that people are climbing over each other to falsely promote - that's all over on the right.
November 30, 2025 at 6:00 PM
can you link me to any posts that laud him as any sort of paragon
November 30, 2025 at 5:47 PM
ah okay why didn't you say you disagreed with his policies from the start, instead of eyebrow-wiggling about one of the least shady pasts of any known politician?
November 30, 2025 at 5:46 PM
is that meant to be a damning indictment? it's very weak, and i'm no fan of the lib dems. i'm old and tired enough to not put all my hopes in one charismatic person, but he's doing a great job so far and there's nothing there that gives me pause.
November 30, 2025 at 5:43 PM
Well I like it. Those *former prime ministers* deserve much worse disdain and criticism. We all know what policy disagreements those lines were shorthand for.

I hold neither of these positions, so you’re wrong.

Completely agree with your overall point, but “legal tender” doesn’t really have anything to do with what shops accept: www.bankofengland.co.uk/explainers/w...
What is legal tender?
Many people are confused about this – it is more about settling debts than how you pay for things in shops

Yeah I’ve been tasked with evaluating it at work for software development on a big and complex repo and it’s extremely patchy and probably has slowed me down over all. It has flashes of usefulness, and might have potential with a lot of work, but certainly doesn’t live up to the starry-eyed hype.

Zarah says you’re trying to push her out and I believe her. Make it right, or else what’s the point in this? What an embarrassing mess.
