It's a month tomorrow until Mansfield Readers and Writers Festival kicks off. I am mostly behind the scenes as president, co-producer and co-curator, but I have one part amongst it all at the front of the house, and can't wait to be in conversation with these luminaries!

My copy of Heat 20 arrived today, with my piece ‘Preludes #2’ within. I wrote this about anticipating my mother’s death, which occurred a month to the day before this edition was published.

Thanks to everyone who supported my book, Vessel in 2024. This date is significant in the book. It is the day of the year that I saw my father and brother drown, 32 years ago. My 10 year old daughter this morning said—I wish I could get over stuff like you.
