There's no guarantee of how they will respond. But I think it will force them, at some point, to reckon with what lies beneath their control. Or, at least, I hope it does.

And in these rare moments what I see so clearly isn't him telling us to obey. To submit. But rather, keep your humanity. Let those in power see your humanity. Turn the other cheek. "I'm not mad at you, bud." Go the extra mile. Forces those in power to see you, and not just their position over you.
