#baldlunch Also—thanks for recommending Dept Q, it was a lot of fun! You guys mentioned being sick of ‘police shows where they break the rules’. You should really check out uk show ‘Line of Duty’ about the cops who catch the bad cops. It was a huge hit here in the UK and an addictively twisty show

#baldlunch Hey guys! I’m heading to the Amalfi Coast next week and was wondering—since Jim did a tour of Italy, did he make it down that way? If so, I’d love to hear any recommendations he might have!I’ll be staying in Vietri sul Mare, just near Salerno.

@fluorescentsoph.bsky.social Hi Sophie! I co-host a arctic monkeys fan podcast where we dissect a track in the discography every week. In a section of the show we reference where the song placed on your NME list of the best songs! We’d love have you feature on an episode discussing your list with us

#baldlunch The voice cast is incredible. I believe this is more of an A. Ron than a Jim, although I identify more with Jim when it comes to superhero content and I love it!

#baldlunch Have you ever watched ‘Invincible’? This show is typically not my style, but it kept getting recommended, so I decided to give it a try. I’m hooked! It’s a brilliantly written story that isn’t afraid to delve into dark themes and handles them with a depth that Marvel struggles to achieve.

#baldlunch Additionally, it seems nobody is discussing the fact that in Severance, Gemma is unaware that Mark is severed. So, when she’s screaming through the door, she only sees her husband, who just rescued her, walking away to be with another woman. What must be going through her mind!

#baldlunch Do you believe art can serve as a necessary support during specific life stages, never quite being the same again? This has certainly been true for music, TV, and film in my life. I’d love to hear if you’ve had similar experiences. Thanks guys! Here’s to 15 more years! 15 more years!

#baldlunch I realized that it wasn’t affecting me emotionally as it once did. Don’t get me wrong, I still love it, and the characters’ stories still make me emotional. However, it no longer evokes the deep emotional connection it used to. I can only assume this is due to my current stage in life.

#baldlunch I thought, “This is so leftovers.” Fast forward, and I’m thrilled to say I’m in a great place in almost every aspect of my life and in a healthy relationship with someone I love. We decided to watch “The Leftovers,” and I warned her, “This makes me a mess.” However, as we watched the show

#baldlunch and feeling generally lost in life. The show left me an emotional wreck with each episode, and I deeply connected with the characters, which provided me with emotional support. There was even a moment when I was smoking on the street, and the wind blew a Jehovah’s Witness pamphlet my way

#baldlunch A few weeks ago, a listener mentioned that shows like “The Leftovers” resonate with people in various ways. I actually found that the show affected me differently at different stages of my life. When I first watched it, I was in a very bad place, dealing with deep depression, loneliness

#baldlunch The Leftovers kind of proved this, with similar themes but a tighter, more focused approach.

Do you think Lost, despite being a trailblazer in so many ways, was actually ahead of its time and ended up suffering for it?

#baldlunch but the network wasn’t about to kill a cash cow. Instead, they struck a deal for fewer episodes and three more seasons.

I’ve always thought Lost could have been brilliant if it had been made in the HBO/cable/streaming era as a ten episodes a season over five seasons show.

#baldlunch You’ve mentioned Lost in both your Yellowjackets and Severance feedback this week. I think it’s important to remember that Lost was a victim of the old network TV model—24 episodes a season meant a lot of filler. Lindelof and Cuse actually wanted to end it at Season 3

#baldlunch I heard a fellow Bald Mover mentioning they were looking for a writer during the last lunch. I’m a UK-based writer with a feature film and a three-part mini-series currently in development. I’ve also written a sitcom pilot and comedy podcasts, specializing in dark comedy and drama.

#baldlunch I’m thinking about commissioning a few episodes of the 2018 Amazon Prime original Patriot—a show I often call “the greatest show nobody has ever seen.” It had a short-lived run of just two seasons, but it remains one of the funniest, most brilliantly crafted series I’ve ever watched.
