I think voters might (understandably) ask where this clear and unambiguous show of intent was in their manifesto, given the inevitable by-products of the various options (e.g. FMOP, the Euro, 3rd party trade deals etc) that really warrant discussion.

Disempowering local decision-making is essentially the point, though. If empowered local decision making lead to vibrant local economies and affordable housing then we probably wouldn't be having this conversation so ultimately Labour need to decide which is more important.

I'd welcome SM access but I think you're underestimating the time it would take to negotiate entry (EU membership? EEA? Swiss-like custom deal? All require others to agree) and overestimating the speed with which benefits would be delivered.
