I'm mostly going to talk about action movies here and you're all just going to have to get used to it.
Thought the first Sisu was good but not quite great. This, however, is one of my favourite action movies of this year. Takes everything about the first one, steps it up a notch and adds in a great villainous Stephen Lang and even manages to squeeze in a bit of humour. What an absolute blast

First time in absolutely ages that I've made a lasagne from scratch. Genuinely few better homecooked meals than a good one of these

Whilst I agree with some of the third act criticisms and it does feel the least like an Edgar Wright movie in his filmography, I mostly had a great time with this. Does a good job capturing some of the vibe of the Schwarzenegger movie without copying it, has some fun action and Glen Powell is great

These movies continue to barely make any sense, I continue to have a blast with them and I still hope they make 10 of them

Was in the mood to cross off some Cynthia Rothrock after listening the @a4epodcast.bsky.social episode

Went back after a break playing other stuff and finished Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Had a blast with it. Really great addition to the franchise and I hope they make many more. Really nails the feel of Indy

Went into this pretty blind after hearing good things. Expected a pretty straightforward rom-com but I love that it develops into something much darker and much funnier. Molly Gordon is so good

After being surprisingly quite disappointed with Dracula, I really enjoyed Frankenstein. Far more atmospheric, deeply tragic and with an amazing simple but at the same time incredibly layered performance from Boris Karloff as the Monster

Moved into my own place for the first time this past week. Still plenty of stuff to get (including buying covers for these armrests) but the two most important things are set up!

Not going as hard on Spooky season this year but I did tell myself this is the year I finally cross off some of the classic Universal Monster movies. Starting tonight with...

Tonights viewing. Charming, funnier than I expected and equally sad at times. The very slight sci-fi element feels pretty undercooked but the excellent chemistry between Brett Goldstein and Imogen Poots carries it a long way. Goldstein especially, charming as hell

An incredibly hard, harrowing watch but also one of the best movies of the year. Cooper Hoffman is great, David Jonsson is incredible

I know comedy is the most subjective thing in the world but at this point I'm convinced there are two kinds of people in the world. There are people who think Tim Robinson is hilarious and there are people who are wrong

Talked about this whilst recording the podcast today so finally giving it a watch and then I'll finally watch the Scorsese version too

Saw Nobody 2. Had a great time! Sure, it's basically beat for beat the same as the first one but its the first one by way of Timo Tjahjanto and, as we should all know, Timo dont miss

Surprised by the more middling responses I've seen to War 2 because I thought it ruled. Plot is overcomplicated especially in the second half but Hrithik is great as ever, N.T Rama Rao JR if anything even manages to outshine him and the action is some of the most fun, over the top I've seen all year
